I never heard of Juneteenth until a novel by Ralph Ellison published after he’d died called Juneteenth came out 20 years ago. I didn’t know if he’d made the name up just for an interesting curious title for a book. The sound of it fascinated me. I read reviews and that explained it. I bought the book. I don’t remember if I read it all. But I had to have it as addictive readers often have to have important new books.

Andy Hunter has come up with a way to help independent bookstores. You can order online and support your local store or you can find a store you like and get a book from themhttps://pressinsiderdaily.com/2020/06/the-new-yorkers-fought-the-amazon-and-saved-an-independent-bookstore/
