I ONLY KEPT MAYBE A DOZEN BOOKS when I just recently gave bags and bags of ‘em away to the Salvation Army a few blocks away. This is one I kept. I’ve kept it where I can see it since I got it in 2004 when it came out. I started reading it again a few days ago just a couple pages at a time because I’m mostly reading Ulysses and the Library of America’s Reporting Civil Rights. Bob Dylan certainly read Ulysses. He may have read both books. He can write of course. Most people think he’s this country’s best song writer. Those of us who read this book which is labeled Volume One wish he’d write at least Volume Two like this one. I’m posting the first page of this book down below.
