He is much loved for his daffy humour, but poet Michael Rosen’s new memoir, Getting Better, is an arrestingly honest account of devastating loss. He talks to Alex Moshakis about feeling sad, and why he’s no longer ‘carrying an elephant’

NO SIGN TODAY, IT’S RAINING. I have C-SPAN on. A smart guy talking about kids and online safety. He said pre-teens are on social media 5.5 hours a day. Teens 8.5 hours a day. TikTok is big. That’s certainly a lot. Almost as much as adults have their TVs on.

HERE’S the 66th issue  of ‘cityReader’. Just finished putting it together. I only print 1000. I pass them out to the people I see with the sign. Many—but not all—the Dept. Of Education people take one. Others I put in coffee shops, a few bookstores. It doesn’t cost much at all for me to print. The design of it which I love was done by Greg Paul who did the Edition, the free weekly I started in Cleveland. The two pages here are out of order. I’m no techie.
