I Can’t Deny The Connection
I find things in David Shields’ writing that ring very true

This newest book,  How literature saved my life, of David Shields has gotten its ass kicked by the reviewers I’ve read.  It just came out, so maybe I’ll read some that like it. They liked his other book, Reality Hunger. Not everybody did. He’s a challenger. He knows he’s  bugging some people. He thinks the novel’s dead. That kind of thing.
Like me, he doesn’t care about plot. Like me, he can read a book or a long article from back to front. Sometimes. That sounds crazy to you unless you do it too. Do you?
