I bought this paperback when I was in high school. There was no bookstore in our small town, so I must have found it on the racks in either Hitchcock's Pharmacy or Engels' cigar store. I can see it in the rack; I just can't remember which of the two stores. I would go into these stores frequently looking at the books, turning the racks that turned unevenly like an old lampshade. It may have been the first book I ever bought that I knew nothing about. I'd never heard of it or the author. You've seen the long accomplished obituary of Willam Goldman in the last few days. RIP.
